Welcome to tonight's clockwatch, which is up there with a trip to the cinema to watch Les Miserables, doing the ironing, checking your children's hair for nits and a quiet night in watching episode two of The Following in the top five ways of keeping yourself amused on this Tuesday night.
There are four Premier League matches for our regular updating pleasure this evening, featuring a raft of potential relegation candidates: Aston Villa v Newcastle United, Queens Park Rangers v Manchester City, Stoke City v Wigan Athletic and Sunderland v Swansea.
Meanwhile in the Championship, there are two matches tonight. Deeply mired in the brown stuff, Barnsley will be hoping its a case of after the lord mayor's show as they take on Millwall, who travel to Oakwell still buzzing from their monotonously predictable "shock" FA Cup win over Villa last Friday night. In the other match, bottom-of-the-table Bristol City entertain Gianfranco Zola's Watford, who will go second in the table if they win tonight.
Time permitting, we'll also be monitoring events from League One, where there are four matches: Crawley v Preston North End, Leyton Orient v Swindon Town, Portsmouth v Notts County and Yeovil v MK Dons. In the SPL, Motherwell take on Dundee in a match many sports fans north of Hadrian's Wall are calling "the fitba".
I'll be here with all the team news and updates from approximately 7pm.
