NEWCASTLE target Mamadou Sakho could leave Paris St Germain in the summer to get more playing time.
The France star, 22, has found his opportunities limited this season under manager Carlo Ancelotti, who has favoured Alex and Thiago Silva in central defence.
Toon have held a long-term interest in Sakho and could move to add him to their legion of Gallic stars at the end of the season.
Sakho said: "I will do everything to play at the 2014 World Cup but I need to be playing week in, week out.
"I cannot accept playing just a few minutes this season and next because this is a decisive moment in my career.
"At the end of the season I will sit down with my agent and club officials and clear up the situation.
"If I have to leave PSG to keep my place in the France national team, then I have no choice but to leave."
Newcastle are not the only Premier League team tracking Sakho with Liverpool and Arsenal also interested.
And those clubs will have been boosted by Sakho's complimentary words towards English football.
Sakho said: "I adore the English Premier League."
Newcastle added FIVE French players last month, bringing in Yoan Gouffran, Moussa Sissoko, Massadio Haidara, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa and Mathieu Debuchy.
