Chelsea take exception to Stamford Bridge advert mocking Fernando Torres for ... - Telegraph.co.uk

Now this is gentle, mildly mirthful stuff in an era of supercharged Twitter bile, but the ad's placement has been enough to upset Chelsea.

As demonstrated by the picture above, the billboard is not far away from Stamford Bridge. The club have asked for the poster be taken down, on the grounds than it affects Torres' image rights.

Their request has been denied because the ad is not situated on their property. And probably because the Advertising Standards Agency have got more important things to be getting on with.

Paddy Power have targeted a number of other Premier League disappointments lately, with Andrei Arshavin mocked close to the Emirates:

And QPR's Jose Bosingwa was also on the receiving end of a ribbing near Loftus Road:

Returns are clearly diminishing on this joke, but hats must dutifully be taken off to CP+B for disrupting the party-line-led order of football.

And, crucially, gaining a whole lot of free promotion for their clients via articles like these. Hooray for advertising!
