Chelsea's Under-19 side beat their Steaua Bucharest counterparts by the same scoreline as the senior team just hours later.

John Swift and Alex Kiyomya grabbed two goals apiece as the young Blues continued their perfect start in the UEFA Europa League after a win over Basle by the same margin.

Cultured midfielder Swift broke the deadlock just before the half-hour mark before Kiyomwa added a second five minutes after the break.

Swift scored again deep into the second half while Kiwomya doubled his tally three minutes from time in a match that saw Chelsea the better side throughout.

The match proved a precursor as Jose Mourinho's men romped to a similar 4-0 win in the Champions League, with Ramires joining Swift and Kiwomya in the Blues' brace club.

Chelsea youth manager Dermot Drummy highlighted the style of football his side exhibited throughout the contest.

'It was a tough performance and the 4-0 was a credit to the way we continued to play open football,' he said.

'Steaua were very organised and worked to the end of the game which made it very difficult for us.

'But we had the pace of Alex Kiwomya and the industry and guile of John Swift who is showing a lot more intelligence in his play and he turned in a star performance.'

Drummy's next fixture sees him take charge of Chelsea's Under-21 side against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
