Wenger is facing a series of tricky selection decisions in central midfield. The manager needed to make a choice between Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Flamini and Ramsey. He may have been influenced by Wilshere's recovery from injury but, in terms of form, he is behind Flamini and Ramsey and it was no surprise he should be named as a substitute. The positive is that it is healthy, for Wilshere and Wenger, that Arsenal are no longer so reliant on him.
4. BEHOLD WENGER'S TEAM IN FULL FLOW
On Saturday, Arsenal scored a goal against Swansea City that followed 21 completed passes. There followed a five-minute blur of attacking football that was as good as anything the Premier League will have seen this season. The opening
20 minutes here against Napoli was even better. Arsenal were precise with their passing and played with a pace and fluency off the ball that left Napoli unbeaten this season at the top of Serie A looking like lower league opposition.
5. OZIL IS A MAN FOR THE BIG STAGE
Like any great player, there is the sense that Mesut Özil will deliver when it matters most. His finish for the first goal was exquisite and he was the architect for the second, picking out Giroud . With Ramsey on the right, Tomas Rosicky on the left and Özil centre-stage, Tuesday night also underlined how Wenger will shape his team around his £42 million record signing.
