Jose Mourinho is poised to rejoin Chelsea, said former Stamford Bridge defender Ricardo Carvalho after his Real Madrid team ended their La Liga season with a 4-2 home win over Osasuna on Saturday.

The game against Osasuna was Mourinho's last in charge of Real but neither Chelsea nor the coach have yet confirmed his next destination.

Former Portugal centre half Carvalho played under the coach when Chelsea won back-to-back Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006.

Asked by Sky Sports television if Mourinho could win the Premier League again at Chelsea, the defender replied: 'I'm sure in two, three years they can but even in his first year he can win it again.

'When we arrived together in 2004 Chelsea had not won the league for 50 years so I hope now they can win it again. Jose is a special coach and I think he deserves all the best because he works very hard.

'Chelsea are a special club for me and I wish for them to win the Premier League again.'

Carvalho, 35, played for the Londoners for six years, making 181 appearances and scoring 10 goals before joining Real in 2010.

He is now a free agent and has already agreed to join newly-promoted Ligue 1 club Monaco next season.

Jose we have been waiting ur coming back for so long, plz tell us the waiting is over!

The Premier league website already had a page up saying Mourinho is Chelsea's new manager, it was dated monday 3rd June. Not sure if the page is still there or if they have realised their mistake by putting it up too early.

Carvalho- Chelsea Legend. Miss him and Terry together in their prime, outstanding!

Ricardo Carvalho certainly knows what he is talking about Chelsea winning the premier league again with Jose Mourinho in charged. As a successful player playing for Jose Mourinho at Porto, Chelsea and Real Madrid, Ricardo is in the better position to understand how the team mechanism will evolve around Jose Mourinho into title contender as well as for top position. I am impressed by Jose managerial ability as well as his reading of the games to reacts to different situation in finding solution to ensure success. With such proven and passionate manager at the helm, Chelsea will once again be at the forefront to fight for honor and glories in the football arena.

Can't wait for Jose Mourinho to be announced as Chelsea new manager. I started supporting Chelsea since when Mourinho became Chelseas manager and since then, i never changed my club even when Mourinho left for inter and Real madrid, Chelsea has been my club
