Ireland international Seamus Coleman is convinced David Moyes can handle the hot seat at Manchester United.
The Everton full-back, bought from Sligo Rovers by Moyes for just 150,000 seven years ago, has established himself as Giovanni Trapattoni's first-choice right-back thanks largely to Moyes's guidance at Goodison Park.
Inevitably, the 24-year-old, who missed out on a place at the Euro 2012 finals with Ireland a year ago, is among a handful of Everton players linked with a switch to Old Trafford following Moyes' elevation to the Premier League champions' manager's role in the wake of Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
No problem: Coleman (left) believes Moyes has what it takes to be successful at United
Solid: Coleman had a fantastic campaign at Goodison Park in Moyes's last term
Coleman is certain the Scot can handle the switch to one of the biggest jobs in world football.
He said: `I think Alex Ferguson had a big say in who the manager would be so he must see something good in him. He has that longevity too. He's been at Everton for 10 years and that's maybe something Alex Ferguson looked at.
`He's done so well with Everton over the last 10 years, top eight every year with maybe not the budget everyone else has. He always manages to pick up good players.
`There is expectancy. We'll have to wait and see but I'm sure he wouldn't take on a job like that if he didn't believe in his own ability. I can only speak about my time at Everton with him and he's been brilliant with me and I wish him the very best and hope he can have continued success at Manchester United. I owe him an awful lot.

`Obviously, he took me from a League Of Ireland team and made me into a Premier League and international footballer. I'll always have good things to say about him. He's always been one to pull you up on things - you're doing things right, you're doing things wrong.
`He's helped the defensive side of my game. He played me in midfield for two seasons where he saw fit for me in the first couple of years and I gained a lot of experience from that. Tony Hibbert was injured at the start of the season and he saw it was the time to give me a go at right-back, I think it was the right time.'
While Coleman may hope Moyes is a success at Old Trafford, he has issues of his own with a new manager following the appointment of Roberto Martinez as Moyes's successor at Goodison.
New journey: Moyes is taking over at United at the end of the season after leading Everton for 11 years.
The right-back has already sounded out international colleagues James McCarthy and Conor Sammon on their former Wigan boss and the reports are already positive.
Coleman said: `I'm obviously looking forward to the new manager, starting all over again, trying to impress him in pre-season, trying to do all the things right to make sure you're in his team.
`I spoke to James about him, he always has good things to say about him. Like David Moyes with me, Martinez was brilliant with James, so he obviously has positive things to say about him.'
Loving the GAA picture there DM ;-)
