Paris Saint-Germain are in talks with Chelsea over a late move for Spanish playmaker Juan Mata, according to reports in France.

The big-spending Ligue 1 club have already splashed out nearly 100million this summer on Edinson Cavani and Marquinhos, but are looking for a replacement for Javier Pastore.

Mata has fallen down the pecking order at Chelsea under Jose Mourinho, despite winning the club's player of the year in each of his two seasons in west London, and L'Equipe claim that PSG are now on red alert for the Spaniard.

The move for Mata could free up space for Pastore to leave the French club - the Argentine was booed off by his own fans at the weekend.

And in a remarkable triangle of transfers, Arsenal are believed to have enquired for the 24-year-old.

He joined PSG for 33.7million in 2011 but has fallen out of favour recently and is yet to score this season. It is believed that other English clubs have made contact about his availability, but the midfielder would like to stay in France.

After the arrivals of Andre Schurrle and Willian, plus the return from loan of Kevin De Bruyne, Mata could struggle for game time in a crucial World Cup year should he stay at Chelsea.

Arsenal and Tottenham have both been linked with the star in recent weeks, though Mourinho would be unwilling to sell to an English club, especially after failing to buy Wayne Rooney from Premier League rivals Manchester United.

PSG were also linked with a late move for Mesut Ozil but he is bound for Arsenal.

Now don't be silly

Lol again DM?! Mata not fully fit.

Haha, still bragging about Willian?! Lol

We must keep Mata. One of the best players I've seen play for us. If a club wants to buy him it would have to be an insane bid to even be worth considering.

It can be shame for Mour. All my concerns about his return to the Chelsea can proof as true. Chelsea played most attractive football not just in EPL but Europe as well. MATA HAZARD and OSCAR together just were pleasure to watch. I think if MATA not in MOUR"s plan, It means we not going to see TREE AMIGOS any more. SAD VERY SAD. Let see how Roman can allow him to sell the BES PLAYER for TWO YEARS in row for CHELSEA. I am Chelsea fan and hope lot of another Chelsea Followers can demand: DO NOT SELL MATA! He is FUTURE of CHELSEA not MOUR!!!

Moyes, if you're reading this, get it done! Offer whatever it takes!

I adore Jaun Mata but PSG needs to loan out their young ones before getting new ones. Why you think Mamadou left! NO playing time!

Would be really surprised if this happened and when has mouriniho said that juan mata isn't in his plans ??

Chelsea surely won't want to sell their most creative player...

No chance will Chelsea sell Mata
