David Luiz claims he has nothing to prove after his shock exclusion from Chelsea's squad for last Saturday's 2-0 victory over Fulham.

The defender, who helped  Brazil win the Confederations Cup in the summer, returned to the Chelsea team for the 2-0 win at Swindon in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday but is not certain to face Tottenham on Saturday.

Luiz said: 'Playing is better than training but we are a big club with many, many good players. If we had just 11 players we could not win anything.

'When others are left out nobody says anything, but I don't need to prove anything. Everyone knows who David Luiz is. Sometimes the manager puts me in, sometimes not. It's his choice.

'The boss chooses his 11 players and his philosophy is to do the best job for Chelsea.

'He is a manager who wants everyone to work hard. I am privileged to play for a big club.

'That's why I stay at Chelsea, so when I have an opportunity to play I enjoy it.'

I think he will go to barca in january and song will go back to arsenal so macsherano will to back to central midfield in barca. simples

Arrogant little fool

with jose in total control,no player gets preferential treatment, and thats why he is the best mngr in the world, you are only as good as your last game is joses principle,be prepared for more doses of his principle,it will continue i promise you

MVG's case is the reason why JM shouldn't play Mata too often at this stage... Injury can never be underestimated...

Come to Barca, friend! Messi is waiting!

Pipe Down

Why was it a shock exclusion for the game against Fulham? It was his mistake that led to Evertons goal and Mou obviously didnt like that.

Words well spoken. Thank you for speaking well David.
