David Moyes wants to start his reign at Manchester United with a bang by winning more than just the Premier League title.

While United will be looking to defend the last championship won under legendary boss Sir Alex Ferguson, Moyes has also targeted other honours.

Moyes has only won one trophy in his 15-year managerial career, the old Second Division title with Preston in 2000.

But he revealed the expectation at Old Trafford and the talent at his disposal will make him strive to win every honour available.

'You have to do well in all competitions - not just the Premier League,' he told the Sun.

'When you are at Manchester United my thinking is you have to go for everything, you attempt to win everything.

'Maybe you miss out sometimes, but you have to try to win all the trophies.

'I've done it everywhere else I've been and I'll certainly do it here because I have a bigger squad, quality players and a club with the tradition of being used to winning things.'

The former Everton man will have his first shot at winning a trophy in the season's traditional curtain-raiser the Community Shield on August 11, while United kick off their pre-season tour of Asia in just five days against a Singha All Star XI.

Here's hoping that Moyes gets a chance at winning the Championship with United, season after next!

I hav a right crush on him lolzz

with nike sponsoring the england shirts and earning the FA money directly....a treble could be on the cards. dodgy decisions by the refs is the only way utd have won trophies since the premier league started

man u's new sponsors AEROFLOP SOUNDS JUST ABOUT WRIGHT WITH MOYES IN THE HOT SEAT- mark , Wrexham, 08/7/2013 14:53 Either you are an imbecile who cannot even correctly type "RIGHT" or a clever play on words regarding the Wright brothers and aircrafts... Something tells me it is far too obviously the former! You dud..

He needs to buy a couple of players then.

AHAHAHA I love bring it on all you haters MANCHESTER UNITED the biggest and best team in the WORLD,David Moyes has took one look round the squad,Carrington and Old Trafford and started rubbing his hands together and said with this lot I will win the lot,a clean sweep next season starting with the Charity Sheild on August the 11th and all you haters are gonna be crying and hating even more AHAHAHAHAHA I love it !!!!

I have said it before and I will say it again. Its fill ya boots time put as much money that you can afford for united to be relegated. Moyes might be a good Manager while he was at that Liverpool club but actually what did he ever achieve while he was there now think carefully before you answer. The only thing this man has in common with the previous Manager is that he is Scottish, Oh and he likes to let rip now and again. Fill ya boots they are going down.

Obviously some of the armchair 'experts' on here would have preferred you to have said you don't intend on winning anything David! The stupidity of some people really does astound me at times!!!

Treble talk already ? Save it for september like every season

Going to be fun to watch how this all pans out for the trophy-less football genius. OBC (out before Christmas) sniggering from afar
