We can be cock-a-hoop
like Bantams - Dean
HARLEE DEAN says Bradford's giantkilling heroics have given Brentford the belief they can follow suit today.
Bantams beat Wigan, Arsenal and Aston Villa on their way to the Capital One Cup final.
And defender Dean believes League One Bees can produce another huge shock by knocking Chelsea out of the FA Cup at Griffin Park.
Dean said: "With teams like Bradford doing so well it gives us hope.
"We're at home where we know we're good, so anything can happen."
Brentford's plan is to frustrate their illustrious West London neighbours.
Dean, 21, added: "We're going to set up defensively and go for it on the counter."
PAUL HAYES faces a unique dilemma when Brentford bid to dump mighty Chelsea out of the FA Cup.
For his seven-year-old son is a passionate Blues fan who has ordered dad to lose to his beloved team.
Will Hayes and younger brother Noah are also mascots for the fourth-round tie at Griffin Park against the Cup holders.
Bees striker Hayes, 29, said: "I know what's going to happen. When I walk out holding Will's hand, he will shake hands with all the Chelsea players and no one else, then he'll run off and warm up with them.
"He has told me he wants them to win even though I've told him that Dad is playing in this match.
"He just said, 'Chelsea are a good team and you have no chance anyway'.
"His favourites are Frank Lampard and Petr Cech because he plays in goal for his Sunday team.
"I have no idea why he supports Chelsea. No one in my family does.
"I just hope he will see this as a win-win situation. It's either Chelsea winning or Dad winning, or even better we get a draw and then beat them in the replay and I score the winning goal."
That is not so far-fetched. While playing for Scunthorpe, Hayes scored against Chelsea in a third-round tie to stun Stamford Bridge, although Blues eventually won the game 3-1.
Hayes explained: "Jose Mourinho was Chelsea boss then and they hadn't conceded a goal for 400-500 minutes.
"I was 21 and couldn't believe I'd scored there and we were beating them for about 15 or 20 minutes. After the game, Jose invited us into the Chelsea dressing room I got Joe Cole's shirt and now it's on my son's bedroom wall.
"All we want is to do ourselves justice. Our manager has got us playing decent football. We don't just hoof it around like everyone expects in League One.
"But Griffin Park might be a bit of a culture shock for Chelsea. You have to walk through the public to get to the dressing room."
Uwe Rosler's team are in contention for the play-offs at least and Hayes added: "Promotion is the main aim.
"This could be a once-in-a-lifetime chance but the league comes first.
"Whatever the result, I'll invite the Chelsea team into our dressing room afterwards, if they can fit in it has two showers, two toilets and, er, that's about it."
