Life is beautiful for Swansea City, and not only because of their advance into the League Cup semi-final; their best showing in a major knockout tournament in 48 years. Upwardly mobile in the Premier League, they are winning plaudits for their possession football, they can compete with anybody and it is a far cry from the dark days at the beginning of the last decade, when their very existence was threatened. Spurs provide the latest challenge but, after wins at Newcastle and Arsenal, the Swans travel without fear. David Hytner

Match pointers
Spurs have kept just one clean sheet in eight Premier League games under André Villas-Boas at White Hart Lane
Swansea have won three of their last five league games in London, including last time out at Arsenal
If games had lasted 80 minutes this season then Tottenham would be top of the table
Michu has already matched Danny Graham, Swansea's top scorer last season, with his tally of 12 goals
In five of Tottenham's last six games both sides have scored at least one goal
