Arsenal 1-0 Queens Park Rangers
Arsene Wenger: "I made the decision without telling him [Wilshere] because when you have not played for such long time it is not always easy to deal with that and there is a high level of expectation when he goes on the pitch. I told him he was playing at 10.30am. Sometimes I think it is better when you don't have much time to think about it when you have been out for a long time."
Mark Hughes: "I have seen the replay, Arteta is offside twice, on the initial header that Julio saves and in the melee he comes back from an offside position and scored. How the referee hasn't given offside, I don't know. We have gone in and asked for an explanation and he has come up with some explanation about Ryan Nelsen leaving the field of play so that played everybody onside. I have no idea what he is going on about but that's what you're up against."
Paul Lambert : "I think the sending off changed a lot. That changed the game. At first thought I thought it was a sending off, because when you commit a foul and you go to do something, then you put yourself in a position where you can get the red. But, looking at it again, I think Elliott, too, has had hold of Joe. It was a bit of an even contest and I think the two of them were at it.
Chris Hughton: "I think it was two points that got away. When you are 1-0 down, you are delighted to get back in the game. If it's 0-0 and you have the pressure we had at the end, you are more disappointed. You can look at the game apart from possession, balance of play and amount of ball in the final third, as one of three clear-cut chances."
Brian McDermott: "You have to say Fulham looked like the Harlem Globetrotters when they brought Bryan Ruiz on. Ruiz cost them £10million. We all know Dimitar Berbatov is an absolute class act. They have Brede Hangeland at the back, Mahamadou Diarra in the middle and Damien Duff - they have a number of players of real quality."
Martin Jol: "We started the first half brightly and had a lot of possession but there was no purpose to our game. We didn't go forward enough for our liking because we have players like Dimitar Berbatov, Damien Duff and Hugo Rodallega. It's like a blonde girl – we looked good from far but far from good. So in the second half we put the make-up on and started again and after the substitutions there was more purpose."
Tony Pulis: "We went to win the game. I thought Sunderland defended really well and that their goalkeeper (Simon Mignolet) was outstanding. We needed a break. I've just looked at a few of the set-plays in the first half and how two of them stay out, I just don't know. That is what you need - a bit of luck. It was always going to be a tight game. They are a good side - we certainly don't look down our noses at Sunderland."
Martin O'Neill: "[Mignolet] has been fantastic for us this year and going back until he got back into the team second time around. Simon started on New Year's Day for us when Keiren [Westwood] was ill and Simon wasn't particularly fit. In fact, he brought his parents over for the game thinking he was going to sit in the stands. He faced that game with a mask because he was recovering from breaking his nose and jaw. But he has been fantastic. With age on his side he should be a really fine goalkeeper."
Wigan Athletic 2-1 West Ham United
Roberto Martinez: "Before the game we knew it was a must-win game and that's always difficult to cope with. It brings extra expectations and all of a sudden you start wanting to win and you don't really know how to win. Until the last minute we showed real composure and I was extremely pleased with that. It was a very well deserved three points and now is probably the start of our season."
Sam Allardyce: "From start to finish we never got going. They hadn't won a game at home and, if you stay in the game, they get a bit more nervous. I'm surprised because our last away performance against QPR was outstanding and it was that performance I was asking for. We might have had a better start than Wigan but we've only just got here [to the Premier League] and we can only go out and give 100 per cent to get a result. Any less than that you get punished at this level.
Manchester City 1-0 Swansea City
Roberto Mancini: "Our performance in the first half was so-so because I think we were so tired but in the second half we played better, we had a lot of chances to score. In this moment, when you are in a difficult moment, after a defeat in the Champions League, it is important we start to win quickly. We played three days ago and Swansea played very well. They were fresh, so it was important to take these three points."
Michael Laudrup: "We have to say, both times, Joe Hart made some great saves. I really think, coming here, playing against the champions away, when they only create one clear chance in 90 minutes and you create two or three, you can think you deserved a little more. The great teams just take those few chances and convert them into goals. I want to only see the positive things because there are so many."
