Stephane Mbia has insisted him and his QPR team-mates are not panicking about their low points return ahead of the daunting trip to face Arsenal on Saturday.
The Loftus Road outfit have endured a torrid start to the season - claiming just three points from a possible 24 - which has lead question over the future of boss Mark Hughes, who guided the club away from relegation on the final day last season.
But Mbia has assured fans that the playing staff are not concentrating on off-the-field matters, and are only focused on claiming a maiden win and pushing the team up the table.
"Everybody wants to get that first win," he told the club's official website.
"We haven't had much luck, but it is up to us to make our own luck and once we do the results will come.
"The lads are calm and we know if we keep improving we will start to climb the table."
The highlight of a disappointing season so far has been a hard-fought home draw with Chelsea and Mbia believes the clash with fellow London rivals Arsenal could be the catalyst to turn QPR's season round.
He added: "Arsenal is a big game for us and of course we know what London derbies mean for the fans.
"We can go to the Emirates with confidence, because we have a good team with a good, strong mentality.
"We have experience and at places like the Emirates, you need to be strong, composed and confident.
"Arsenal will want to bounce back from their defeat at Norwich, but we need the points as well to move up the table."
Mbia joined the R's from Marseille in the summer - in a transfer that saw Joey Barton head the other way on loan - and the midfielder believes he has adapted to life in England well after missing out on pre-season.
"I feel as though I've settled down now in England. It always takes time to get used to a new country and a new way of life, but I feel like I am at home now and that will only help me on the pitch," he continued.
"The manager and Mike [Rigg] have been great in helping me settle in and I am very happy in London with Queens Park Rangers."
