Leeds v ChelseaLive - BBC News

If you really want to understand the root of the rivalry you need to look back to the mid-1960s and 70s, when Leeds, under the management of Don Revie, and Chelsea, led by Tommy Docherty, were two of the leading sides in the country. As John King, author of The Football Factory, explains: "Leeds were... portrayed as dour Yorkshiremen with a reputation for playing dirty... Chelsea, on the other hand, were the wide boys of London, dedicated followers of fashion. While Leeds were drinking tea and playing cards, Chelsea were out boozing and chasing girls [but] when it came to games between the two, however, war was declared."

It is probably best to let the players themselves take it from here...
