ADAM LE FONDRE has scooped the Premier League Player of the Month award for January without starting a SINGLE game.
And Le Fondre, 26, will go down in history for becoming the first ever Reading star to win the prestigious accolade.
The supersub came off the bench to net five times in just 68 minutes as the Royals picked up seven points from games with West Brom, Newcastle and Chelsea.
Two of those goals came in a remarkable encounter at Stamford Bridge when Brian McDermott's men bounced back from two goals down to secure a 2-2 draw.
And while Le Fondre may have grabbed the headlines, boss McDermott's contribution to the club's upturn in fortunes landed him the Manager of the Month award.
A Reading statement said: "We become the first club to 'do the double' since Scott Parker and Harry Redknapp picked up both trophies at Spurs in November 2011.
"Everyone connected with Reading would like to proudly congratulate both Brian, Adam and the rest of the team on their fantastic efforts last month and throughout the Premier League campaign so far."
